Overview
In order to invite panelists to your tests and to otherwise communicate with panelists from our software, the panelists need to be imported into the Panelists library. You can organize your panelists into panels and subpanels.
There are different scenarios when it comes to objectives in panel management. For example:
- You might be interested in adding one or two panelists. This task can be efficiently completed by adding the panelists manually.
- You have a large panel in another database and would like to transfer them into Compusense. The fastest way to accomplish that is by organizing all the panelist information into a file and import their information into the Panelists library.
- You would like to have generic guest panelists to have available for testing and other purposes.
- You want to enable panelists to set their own passwords.
- You want to be in control of your panelist passwords, etc.
In this workflow you will learn how to create a panel, how to import "real" (or registered) panelists and let them set their own password, import "guest" (or generic) panelists, manually add panelists, update existing panelists, and more.
To locate the
Panelists library and follow all the remaining steps on this page, from the
Dashboard, click
Libraries > Panelists.
Use the Column picker to customize the view in the Panelists library.
Most testing is done by registered panelists. The registered panelists need to exist in your
Panelists library, in at least one panel.

Import Real Panelists
Every registered panelist (a real person with their own unique panelist record) has to have a Username and a Password to be able to access the panelist website and participate in your tests. This and other panelist information can be included in your importing file.
There are two ways to import real panelists from a file:
- Import panelists without passwords. This will enable panelists to set their own passwords.
- Import panelists with passwords. There will be no further action required from panelists regarding the password setup.
Anonymous testing is also possible, but should be used only if your analysis objective does not require the link between the data and the panelists.
Sometimes it is just convenient to add one or two panelists manually.
